The Power of Herbs
Over 60 years ago, the world-famous Green Peel® was created by Dr. Christine Schrammek, a pioneering German dermatologist, allergist, and botanist. Her breakthrough discovery harnessed the power of herbal enzymes to naturally exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin.
The Green Peel® is a blend of 9 different plants and flowers, finely ground into a powder, mixed with specialized solutions, and transformed into a scrub. During a personalized 60-minute facial, this scrub is massaged into the skin by a certified professional. For 10 minutes, the herbs work their magic, temporarily stoping the skin's protective barrier to allow deeper penetration into the dermis—the layer where real change happens. The natural enzymes from the botanical ingredients boost blood flow and ignite skin cell renewal.
In the days following the treatment, your skin will shed an entire layer, revealing baby-smooth, brand-new skin in just 5 days. Three treatments spaced 30 days apart can visibly reduce up to seven years of skin aging, damage, or distress.
What Results Should You Expect?
-
If you have dark spots from picking or post-acne redness, expect up to 80% clearer skin after one treatment.
-
For fine lines and wrinkles, they will appear significantly less noticeable, especially when treatments are started at a younger age.
-
Three Green Peels® can help reverse up to seven years of skin damage.
-
If you have rough, uneven skin texture, expect incredibly smooth, soft, and healthy skin after just one treatment.
-
For cystic acne or flare-ups, expect reduced inflammation and 75%-90% overall clarity.

What is the Downtime?
After receiving a full classic Green Peel®, expect around five days of downtime. During this period, it's essential to follow specific aftercare instructions:
-
Avoid workouts or activities that cause excessive sweating, as this can disrupt the treatment.
-
Most importantly, do not wash your face with water—water can neutralize the herbs in your pores and, in some cases, lead to white pustules or breakouts.
-
Use only the products provided on the day of your Green Peel® for your aftercare. These have been specifically chosen to support your skin’s healing process.
-
If you take hot showers, make them brief, as steam can have the same neutralizing effect as water, ultimately diminishing the benefits of the Green Peel®.
For the next five days, your routine will include a moisturizer, toner, and the star of the show: blemish balm, an incredible product that will help transform your skin.
(Below image is taken three days into the Green Peel®, please note: some of you may peel a lot, others may not. This does not mean you are not going to see results; everyone's skin is different)!
What is Blemish Balm and Why do I Need it?
Blemish balm was created specifically for the intended use after a Green Peel®. It acts as the protective layer of your skin (since it was just scrubbed away by the herbs). The special cream supports the skin regeneration process and at the same time conceals the reddened complexion. The blemish balm Dr. Christine Schrammek invented with its double effect is the model all BB creams are based on today!
Even after your Green Peel ®, please feel free to use blemish balm as a spot treatment on any dark spots, acne, or as I like to do, a full coverage “foundation.” It gives that perfect effortless makeup look, without makeup. Not to mention, it is also a full-coverage sunscreen made with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
Are There Any Contraindications or Side Effects?
Sun Exposure: After your Green Peel®, it’s crucial to avoid sun exposure. You must stay out of the sun immediately after the treatment, and be extremely cautious about avoiding a sunburn for the next 2-3 months. Sunburn during this period can lead to melasma, a form of irreversible hyperpigmentation that can occur if your skin is exposed to UV rays following the peel. Please be diligent in protecting your face from the sun!
Allergies: If you have any allergies, it’s important to let us know before your Green Peel® treatment.
Medications: If you’re using retinol or taking any oral medications that make your skin photosensitive (meaning more prone to sunburn), you'll need to stop taking them 2-4 weeks before your treatment.
Side Effects: The primary side effect of the Green Peel® is skin sensitivity. Since the scrub removes the outermost protective layer, your skin may feel tender, almost as if there are tiny glass shards on the surface. This sensation, while tolerable, can last 1-3 days and is most noticeable when applying the provided aftercare products. The most important thing to remember is do not touch or pick at your face, especially with dirty hands, during the five-day recovery period. Allow your skin to heal naturally, and only touch your face when applying your aftercare products.
How Does the Green Peel® Work?
The Green Peel® uses naturally derived plants and flowers to exfoliate the outermost layer of skin. Enzymes within the plants work to break down the keratin protein in the upper layer of the skin, which bonds dead skin cells together. This allows the plant ingredients to reach the epidermis to a predetermined depth and induce the formation of mediators via controlled cell irritation and protein precipitation. This ensures an increase in cell and fiber proliferation by increasing blood circulation which activates the skin's metabolism. The increased internal tissue pressure activates the regeneration of superficial micro traumatization. These processes combined with the formation of the new horny layer create brand-new, plump, hydrated skin.
In my personal experience of working in dermatology and skincare for almost 10 years and performing chemical peels, lasers, microneedling, dermabrasions, etc. I have seen the fastest and most effective results with the Green Peel®. This treatment and the power of botanical ingredients was the inspiration in developing Rated X Skin products.
Can Men Receive the Green Peel ®?
Absolutely! The only key difference is men’s downtime is three days instead of the full five days. This is because it is much harder for a man to avoid wetting his face for 5 full days so a medium version of the herbal peel is applied to receive maximum benefits.
Yes, the Green Peel® can be applied over facial hair, but for the best results, it's recommended that men either freshly shave or trim their facial hair to a very short length before the treatment. This allows the herbs to penetrate the skin more effectively. The aftercare routine is the same as a traditional Green Peel®, and men can still expect fantastic results, including smoother, clearer, and more revitalized skin.
Men typically experience dryness and peeling 5-7 days post treatment, while women usually notice it around days 4 and 5. This difference is due to women keeping the herbs in their skin for the full five days, whereas men typically retain them for only three days.
